"Bok House"

"Bok House"

12 x 16 acrylic on canvas

$200

The Bok Singing Tower Gardens in Lake Wales, Florida is a beautiful place to go and wander through
the garden, see the wonderful tower and find this house where the Bok Family used to live. There is a definite Spanish influence in the house and when you walk upon it, it is framed by trees. Click on the photo to see a larger view.

Here is the finished house portrait commission. I have two more to go! Hopefully, the client liked it; it was hard to paint from a very old, bad photograph. And the children were added  by me...they were not in the original photo.

"Autumn Sunflowers"

"Autumn Sunflowers"

16 x 20 acrylic on stretched canvas

$250

I have been painting on this a full week! Of course, there have been interruptions, but I was actually afraid my bouquet of sunflowers would die before I finished the painting! I had such a fun time doing the background and undercoats. I just happily splashed paint on really quickly with a large brush. After a couple of hours, I stood back to look at it, and I almost just called it finished and quit! I loved the first two hours work. But I knew in my heart it wasn't completely done, so after that, I found I was more cautious and even a little fretful! How does one keep the first spontaneity? I don't know. But I was pleased with the final result and love some of the colors I was able to get. Please click on this for a closer view. And, come on, give me lots of comments as to how you like it! Thanks and hope your Autumn days are as happy as sunflowers!
