I am enjoying doing some Pastels just now. It has been a few years, really, since I have done much with them. I decided to do a series of paintings with them and strive for more looseness, freedom from subject matter, but to concentrate on composition, value and color. Anyway, I am just getting started, so it feels a little strange to not be using a brush and liquid pigments! Pastels are soft--the edges usually look soft in the painting and that is quite nice. You obviously haven't lost the knack of painting in pastels then!
